Must Visit! One Woman Wines and Vineyards

I recently reminisced about our memorable trip to the One Woman Wines and Vineyards. And in celebration of International Women's Day, I wanted to share this special place with you, as it is woman-owned and operated. 

We finally made our inaugural visit to @onewomanwinery last August. It's a simple place with a small tasting room and a few tables and benches under breezy tents.

For us, the best part of wine tasting at a vineyard is hearing their story, we were in for a treat! The owner Claudia Purita's daughter Gabriella was our server and a wealth of information! We ordered one of the tasting flights, and Gabriella was nice enough to add ina few more for us to indulge in.  The Gewurztraminer is must try!

Her mother grew up in Italy in a farming family and learned the craft there, although they later moved to Long Island. She then returned to her roots and got back into wine-making in the North fork. She practically does everything from planting to pruning to winemaking with Gabriella by her side. 

They refuse to make bad wine. If a year doesn't produce fruit up to Claudia's standards, a whole harvest gets dumped - as was the case in 2021.  That's how much they care about what they make and sell.

Add @onewomanwinery to your list of wineries to visit the next time you're in the North Fork. It welcomes parties of 6 or fewer, so you'll be in for an intimate experience.
