Summer is here and along with it many activities and events that take place outdoors. New York City has no shortage of offerings and if you live for summers like I do, then you'll love this list. There is something for everyone, from sailing races for speed lovers to restaurant week for foodies to outdoor performances for music and art lovers. Take a look and see what grabs your attention!

SAIL GRAND PRIX

6/22-23 |Governor’s Island

If you love salty waters and speed, SailGP is for you! It will bring 10 international teams to the waters to race turbocharged F50 catamarans at more than 60 miles per hour. Fans can watch the action in stadium-style seats on Governor’s Island. Tickets are $100/person. You can find more information and buy your tickets right here.

BLACK RESTAURANT WEEK

6/19-30 | Various Restaurants

Happening in NY and NJ, Black Restaurant Week is not to be missed to experience the cuisines of the African American, African and Caribbean cultures. There are 80 participating restaurants and you can find the full list here.

No matter how hot or humid, I just live for the summers and seeing live shows outdoors is a favorite pastime. NYC has no shortage of offerings this summer. You can experience a variety of genres including dance, theater, jazz, comedy, funk or even opera!
